I asked the people only one question. “Will you buy Xbox 360 or PS 3 ?” And to my surprise almost everyone said PS 3 . There are few reasons why they selected PS 3, 1. Playstation 2 was a succesful hit in Pakistan, so they have hope for Playstaion 3, too. 2. Xbox failed in Pakistan’s Market, so has Xbox 360. 3. People already hate Microsoft, so they aren’t buying Xbox 360, what come may. 4. Sony on the other hand before the chinese products came, controlled a share in Pakistan’s market. 5. Sony has got many Dealers in Pakistan. 6. Playstation 2 sold over 10 million units in Pakistan. I came across a person and he said “Microsoft officially launched their product(Xbox 360) in India but not in Pakistan, so do you think we are going to buy Xbox 360“. When Xbox 360 was launched in India, the people of Pakistan were disappointed, including me. Now we really hate Microsoft. Some people have written on thier websites “Microsoft is Indian, Microsoft is a cow“. Actually most of the people don’t know that the Indians believe that their God is a Cow, or stone, or wood, or Just Anything !

Well yeah i heard, that the Playstation 3 price will be reduced.
On the other hand, it has not been officially released, so who knows the price might go down.
On the other hand Playstation 3 has a fast processor and a cool graphics card, so these things are expensive.
Ofcourse the price comes first but remember “For better and faster Performance and Graphics, you need to pay more”

no it will not be possible…. we will have to wait for Blu-ray rom….it is totally different from DVD-rom. and u will have to buy a computer worth $2000 , so no need. just buy a console for $499 .

to be very honest with ourselves 360 is really not going to do a business although i had decided to go for a 360 now for the time being passed like that, and when ps3 prices drops i will just get from the market not only the ps3 is more capable of doing things if copared to 360 but we had been loyal to SONY for almost 3 decades.

Dude i have to argue with you on these :

the original xbox did some what failed but not totally,the cds were here ,i too had a xbox and a ps2,and about that Xbox 360 failed is totally baseless,i have contacts with guys in Saddar area ,they have actually sold good amount of xbox 360’s because of following reason:
*late launch of PS3
*Its gonna be more late bcuz of blu-ray medium,cuz its new so pirates will require to enginner that also “mod chips/internal software hack” are yet to be developed for PS3 n this will be big problem for ps3 my man.u can see that even pirated cds of xbox 360 are being sold as high as 700 rupees each ,after 9/10 months of launching in Pakistan

my advice is that PS2 is a year 200 Model. People are going towards new consoles. If you want an inexpensive console. Then go for the latest Nintendo. It is cheap and the best in Entertainment too.

No….Playstation 3 price is $499 which means in pakistan it is Rs 30,000 and in the shopkeepers will also add their profit….so just think it is going to be like Rs35,000.

ps3 will be in the uk shops end of march 2007 and its price tags £390 pounds.thats what I have been informed by the games shop.Shop assistant also informs me that it will be long long and long time before it will play pirated games.my friend who lives in Islamabd tells me that price in pakistan around 40000.so i am not sure if that is true or not.my ps3 is booked and deposit paid for march to be collected.i prefer ps3 any time.so good luck to you all in pakistan..hope that you dont wait that long….

yeah PS2 games can be played on a PC having DVD-rom but you must have an emulator to play it…..For PS3 wait till the end of 2007.

Honestly speaking neither system really stands out above the other. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Given the PS3 is a few months old and the Xbox 360 has almost a year on the PS3, it says a lot that the games look about equal to the 360’s. In the long run the PS3 will most likely overtake the Xbox once again. For those who do not with to pay the $499 price tag for the cheapest PS3, pick up an Xbox 360. For those who can afford it, the PS3 is worth the money. Once the PS3 is over a year old, I think many will find it to be the better system with the larger portion of game developers as normal

Console Wars - The Japan Front {BY MEGA GAME}
Description
The Japanese market has always been an interesting battlefield in the war of the consoles. Exhibiting an understandable preference to Sony and Nintendo, the market never really embraced XBox while XBox 360 is also struggling. It is therefore of particular interest to see how the two Japanese competitors have fared during this holiday season.
Video game magazine publisher Enterbrain has reported on the Japan sales figures for Nintendo’s Wii and Sony’s PS3. In all, 466,716 PlayStation 3 consoles were sold in Japan by the end of last month, less than half of its shipment target and of sales of Nintendo’s next-gen offering. Sony recently made some noise over its success to meet its target of shipping 1 million PS3 units to North America before the end of 2006 but this was achieved by diverting stock from the November 11 Japanese launch. As a result it is unlikely that Sony met its target of shipping 1 million PS3’s to Japan before the end of 2006.
The company has not commented on its Japanese targets but has stressed that it is on target to meet its 6 million unit global target before the end of March 2007. Chapter One of the console wars saga begins with an undoubted Nintendo victory but you have to remember that the Playstation 2 is still selling remarkably well while Nintendo’s DS is continually breaking records

PS3 is a rock solid, kick ass graphics, sixaxis controllers, more connectivity with every product of SONY, more games than the xbox or xbox 360. ps3 will conquer the market soon, the reason of popularity of 360 is one year ahead before ps3 launch and xobx and xobx 360 has only one exclusive title which the whole microsoft depend and it is HALO which i think its sux…whole. and for common sense how u only rely on only one title and start walking to defeat the king of games (PS3) what ever the whole world think, say or predict the next gen starts with ps3 and ps3 is the only winner in every part including great games.

Sony brought out a new piece of hardware with massive potential. The game developers struggle working with the PS3 due to it’s complex technology, the graphics you see in games currently available for the PLAYSTATION 3 are nothing. Wait until the game developers learn the ways of the console, harness the power of it, and unleash visuals many game designers have only dreamt about, the PS3 brings these dreams to reality. (this would take a few years by the way).Judging it by the games, you could see a glimpse of the potential this console is capable of. There are also some serious extras such as being able to play blu-ray movies. The Xbox 360 may be powerful, but the PLAYSTATION 3 is just unbelievable. It will get good games don’t you worry, just look at how the PS2 games brought the console to victory in the fight with the hands-down more powerful Xbox.

I am currently in Canada and coming to Pakistan next month, just bought a PS3 (though its hard to find one over here too), Its sealed and never been opened. Can I sell it easily in Pakistan, if so, for how much? Are people eager to own PS3?

ps3 fucks.surely, it has high graphics and 8 core systems in it but still the developers have not worked on the brightness or darkness and also texture whereas, 360 is quite better than it. As in nfs carbon the texture is better than on ps3 also the trees had much neatness whereas on ps3 they are blurr with much light and brightness.

First and for most…..this is the latest price updates…..the Xbox 360 has three versions…..the cheapest one with no hardrive is $299.99, the one with a 20 GB hardrive is $399.99, and finally the Xbox 360 Elite which is the best of the systems is $479.99. While the PS3 has only one version which is $599 NOT $499, which makes it around Rs 36,000 WITHOUT THE CUSTOM AND TAX and all that. On top of that 360 is getting a lot more support from game companies like EA, ID, EDOS, and the most astonishing thing is that the ROCKSTAR company (they came out with GTA San Andreas) is now making the latest GTA EXCLUSIVE for the 360. Buddies i also wanted to buy a PS3….but it really is not that much better then the 360 the only thing it really has over it is the BLUE RAY disc player….which is not gonna be a hit for at least 2 more years because there simply arent a lot of people who are looking for blue ray videos and games in the world overall…..
so the decesions on you friends….id say that if ur desperate for entertainment like me…..get the Xbox 360…..but if u can wait at least two years…..then buy the PS3…..(PS3 might be a better decesion in the long run)…..and the PRICES ARE NOT COMING DOWN ANYTIME SOON (THIS IS 100% CONFIRMED)….

OK boys.. its time you all grew up… Video game consoles have been around for ages now.. and with each new generation claiming to be the ultimate systems.. by they respective companies..
The lesson that you have to learn is that its not the hardware that makes these systems successful or worth buying for that matter.. what good is a super computer that can synthesize reality when there are no decent games that you can get for it.. or say just 10 decent games.. worth playing.. compared to a system which has say 100 decent games… which one would you buy… ?
Then figure into it the availability of pirated games for that system and their cost.. and availability in Karachi…
Then look at the actual cost of the system… are they worth the money with their current batch of games…
All the hardware specs and the promise of great games in the future are just that promises….
If you go by these rules.. the PS3 is a complete failure at this time… what exclusive killer titles does it have…
1. Resistance: Fall of Man
2. MotorStorm
Look at the top20 reviewed games:

So, from the launch you have 2 original IP games designed for the system.. all others are either ports of PC, or multiplatform games… so is there a compelling reason to buy a PS3 yet.. to play 2 games ?

There is a similar story when you look at the XBOX360… although the 360 is easier to work with then a PS3 cause the Development tools the Microsoft built are great and I also believe the ATi Chip is the XBOX is more advance then the RSX which is based on the 7900 Nvidia PC chip.. But, look at the games…i would say at most 6 games that are orignal in those top 20. Much better then the PS3..
Now look at the Wii…11 games out of the 20.. hmm plus games that even you sister or mom can play… and would enjoy…
So, although i am excited about MGS4 on the PS3 and Gears on the 360, there isn’t much else out there.. that i am looking forward too.. on these systems.. plus they don’t know how to maintain the momentum with great games… who knows when MGS4 will be out.. and even then would i want to spend 36000 on a system.. for a couple of games.. BlueRay there are no movies available at prices that i can afford.. i rather download HD movies off the internet on a 512k connection from ptcl that would be cheaper at 2000/pm

My advice.. is don’t even bother with a PS3.. there is no value for your money yet… 360 ok.. if u like the current library… but for me the only attraction is gears.. and i can play better looking versions of Burnout and NFS.. but i can play NFS games on the PC as well.. so there is only gears.. and some MS Racing games..like PGR and Forza.. .and maybe that dead rising zombie games from Capcom..
and it has out sold the 360 and Ps3 everywhere.. infact it is short at most retailers in the US and Europe.. u can get pirated DVDs for 200.. i can live with that… 
or burn ur own off the net… 
So, the only console that i feel like buyin is the cheapest of the lot… the Wii

Hey people this is Raza from Abu Dhabi UAE. The PS3 60GB NTSC is 1,800 dirhams here and Xbox 360 Premium is 1,650 dirhams. Fake copies of the Xbox 360’s games are out and sell for 10-30 dirhams. I really want to buy a PS3 but I dont plan to pay 150 dirhams for each original game. Does anyone know if fake copies of the PS3 blu-ray games will be available in the near future, I mean by the end of 2007? Please help! I’m being forced to buy an Xbox 360 because I dont wanna waste my summer vacations this way playing my old PS2.

PS3 failed in Pakistan because no body is willing to buy a game for 3,000 RS which they can buy for 200 RS on Xbox 360. Buying an expensive console just to play 1 or 2 exclusive games for months to come is not much of a reason to get it. Xbox 360 is going to be the next PS2 in Pakistan, but the only reason which keeps it from becoming that is the poor quality of the hardware. The console dies after an year at average. Hopefully microsoft will fix that problem and reduce the price…….eventually….
I am not a fan of any console its just that its common sense to buy a console which has same but 95 % cheaper games on it….Duh
